Personal photo album DIY

In this digital age I love to go back to analogue things. While on short trips, I take my analogue camera with me instead of my DSLR because it’s lighter and less valuable. I went to Paris in january and today I decided to finally put my pictures in a photo album. The thing I love about photo albums is that they’re real and touchable. I often think to myself what would happen if I lost my computer (and my harddrive). So many photo memories would be lost.

This DIY is about making a photo album that is very personal and crafty. Enjoy!

What you will need:
- A photo album
- Pictures
- Photo glue
- Markers
- Maps, tickets etc. from your trip
- Decorating ribbons (whatever floats your boat!)

Step 1: I like to make my photo album personal. That’s why I drew the Eiffel tower on the cover. I also put the city and date there for future references.

Step 2: Make sure to save your city maps when you go on a trip! They are ideal for decorating your photo album. You can use them as a background or cut little heart-shapes out of them.

Step 3: You can use nearly everything you collected on your trip. It’s fun to combine a picture with a ticket or map of the occassion. This is a picture I took at the Louvre with the map of the Louvre underneath. Don’t be afraid to put pictures over maps or the other way around.

Step 4: Be creative! And most of all; don’t be scared. Because you’re using photo glue, the pictures are easy to take out of the photo album if necessary.
